Welcome back to the week in review, where we take a look at all the top stories making headlines in Unified Communications this week.

The week started off with the news that Jenne Inc. has become a new 8×8 Inc. go-to-market partner. Thanks to this new partnership, the value-added distributor will bring the 8×8 Communications Cloud to mid-market and enterprise customers in the U.S. Paula Bernier’s full coverage is HERE.

In other partnership news, Jive Communications announced a unified communications partnership with Cisco to deliver Jive voice solutions with Cisco’s Multiplatform Phones (MPP). “Many of our customers and partners have been looking forward to using these new handsets,” said Mike Sharp, Chief Product Officer at Jive Communications. “Cisco is a leader in the enterprise Unified Communications space and this is going to make a huge difference for many of our partners and customers.” Find out everything you need to know HERE.

Some big acquisitions also took place this week, including one that saw Elitetele.com acquire Nexus Telecommunications Limited, a communications solutions provider. This acquisition is Elite’s largest to date, which is really saying something considering that it has made 15 acquisitions total since 2008. Needless to say, Elite knows the benefits of building up its team. Find out what it stands to gain from this acquisition HERE.

Finally, the week rounded out with the news that business spending on tech is shifting. According to a new report from Frost & Sullivan, cybersecurity will remain center stage for businesses but, increasingly, businesses will shift their tech spending from cost reduction initiatives to efforts that enable them to differentiate themselves in the marketplace. Paula Bernier has full coverage HERE.

That’s all for this week. Come back next week to read all the latest news in the Unified Communications space.
